Tasting Spain with Campos de España

March 6th, 2016

Spanish wine has been in the news off and on over the past few years. The quality of wines coming out of Spain for the price point is virtually still unequalled in the world of wine today.  Some would argue with this statement; but when you add the tremendous breadth of varietals available, Spain truly is still the wine world’s “hot spot” with a plethora of possibility. As a confirmed Hispanophile, I will be the first to tell you I have a love affair with opening and savorin...

Tour del Vino Gallego: The Wines of ViniGalicia

December 9th, 2012

Summer has bid adieu and the fall color palette has taken over the landscape. August 16th, 2010

On a recent work trip to Hawaii I discovered a wine that I have heard about over the past couple of years but have never come to purchase - the 2007 Viña Godeval from Valdeorras. I picked it up at a wine shop in Kailua Kona (on the big island) and asked the gentleman behind the counter for the best sushi in the area. He gave me a recommendation and told me that I can bring my own wine - at no charge! Great sushi and my own Spanish wine? Does it get much better than that? I don't think so! The D....

Memories of Vacations Past

November 22nd, 2009

Have you ever been on a vacation that was so amazing that you would return in a second? Do you reminisce about what you did? Or what you ate? Or what you saw? Well, Just two months after leaving my food and wine vacation at Catacurian I am feeling those same nostalgic so-called hunger pangs. So I spent some time this weekend doing the proverbial flipping through old photos - this is so much easier with digital! A picture may be worth a thousand words but no amount of words can express the sheer ...
